Pink background with white cursive and bold text reading, "Are you a new family to Dakota Fins? Welcome, We Are So Glad You Are Here!"

As a new family to our practice, we want you to feel welcomed and prepared for your first and ongoing sessions.

Our hope, as you begin services, is to have this process be as smooth and seamless as possible.

NEXT STEPS

Dakota Fins Therapy requires a referral from a referring provider, primary care provider, or a specialty provider.

The referral for services can be emailed to meagan@dakotafins.com or faxed to 605-305-3653

Before an evaluation or ongoing services can be scheduled, we need to receive a referral, have a parent/guardian complete and sign new patient forms, and obtain your child’s insurance information.

  • We offer Aquatic Therapy + Adaptive Swim (dual service) for children with special needs. This is provided by Meagan, Occupational Therapist and Owner of DFT. This service combines both services into one, so children with special needs will be instructed on swim safety and techniques, alongside aquatic occupational therapy.

  • Getting started is simple. Reach out through our contact form or schedule a discovery call—we’ll walk you through the next steps and answer any questions along the way.

  • Yes, we are currently in-network with and accept Medicaid and Aetna, with the goal of adding Avera as well as Tricare to our accepted insurances list. We also accept patients that wish to cash-pay for services.

We will soon be offering scholarships and other funding sources provided through grants and non-profits!

  • The most common diagnoses we see in our practice are down syndrome, autism, cerebral palsy, sensory processing disorder, developmental delays, ADHD, and many others!

Your Questions, Answered.

Insurances + Payment Methods We Accept

  • We are in-network with Medicaid and can bill for services we provide.

  • We accept Aetna as well and can bill them for therapy services we provide.

  • We are currently working on securing funding through Medicaid Waivers, including the Life360 program.

  • We want your child’s therapy experience to be worth every penny. If we do not accept your insurance, we do accept private pay options. Please see below for private pay rates.

  • If we do not currently take your insurance we can provide a superbill. A superbill is a receipt for a session with an out-of-network provider allowing the patient to submit to their health insurance. Reimbursement will be determined by the individual healthcare policy at the time the claim is received. Please call your insurance to verify that you have out-of-network benefits.
