Aquatic Therapy.
Imagine a therapy where your child can build strength, confidence, and skills—all while splashing and having fun in the water!
At Dakota Fins Therapy, we are dedicated to empowering parents and bringing joy to children’s therapeutic journeys.
Our Aquatic Therapy program embodies this mission by utilizing the unique properties of water to create a supportive and engaging environment for your child’s development.
Huge Gains Start With Small Splashes!
Aquatic therapy is where therapy meets playtime in the water! It’s a fun and effective way to help kids grow stronger, move better, and feel more confident— all while having fun!
The magic of water makes everything easier and more exciting. With its support and natural resistance, the pool becomes the perfect place for kids to stretch out, strengthen, and explore new movements they might find impossible on land.
At Dakota Fins, Meagan turns each session into an adventure, tailoring activities to match your child’s unique abilities and goals. From floating like a starfish to kicking a toy across the pool, every minute in the water helps your child learn, grow, and use their new skills on land!
-
Water turns movement into play! Every kick and reach helps build strength and endurance in a fun, engaging way. Whether your child is pushing toys through the water or balancing on a pool noodle, they’re developing very important muscles without even realizing it—gaining confidence and strength for every milestone ahead!
-
The pool becomes a sensory-rich haven for your child. Warm water offers a comforting, secure feeling, while gentle splashes and bubbles provide sensory input. This soothing yet playful environment helps children feel regulated, confident, and ready to engage in learning and play.
-
The water offers a powerful space for children to realize their potential. Every achievement—floating independently, kicking with purpose, or stacking toys—builds confidence and pride. With each session, children become more eager to try new skills and gain the self-assurance to carry those successes beyond the pool.
-
In the pool, your child experiences a sense of lightness and support. The water gently carries their body, allowing them to move, stretch, and explore skills that may feel challenging on land. With each movement, they build strength, confidence, and mobility that carries over to life both in and out of the water.
Aquatic therapy is a great fit for children who enjoy movement, water, and discovering new skills. Whether your child is building major developmental milestones or celebrating small successes, the pool provides a safe, supportive space for children of all abilities and goals.
Aquatic therapy may be especially beneficial for children who:
Are developing movement skills: The water supports crawling, standing, walking, and jumping while reducing strain.
Need to build strength: Gentle resistance turns muscle development into engaging play.
Experience sensory challenges: Warm water and steady pressure create a calming, regulating environment.
Are working toward specific goals: Aquatic therapy supports progress with motor skills, coordination, and overall confidence.
Each session is individualized to support your child’s unique needs, highlight their strengths, and encourage continued growth—both in and out of the pool.
